Sambit Panda and Aditi Mohanty won titles in open and girls` categories respectively in the Odisha State Under-11 Chess Championship at East Coast Railway Institute here today. In the seven-round competition, Bhubaneswar boy Sambit and Cuttack girl Aditi scored 6.5 points apiece.
Altogether 134 in open category and 51 in girls joined the three-day tournament, which was hosted by S R Chess Centre, under the auspices of Cuttack District Chess Association and All Odisha Chess Association.
Top two finishers in open category and top three in girls qualified to represent the state in the National U-11 Championship, scheduled to be held at Puducherry from July 13 to 21.
