Odisha women lifters corner glory

Odisha women cornered glory in the Senior National Weightlifting Championship, bagging a total of seven medals at Jaipur today. The medals included six gold and one bronze. According to a press release by Odisha Weightlifting Association, Pramila Kirsani pocketed all three gold in women`s 53kg category, lifting 77kg in snatch, 100kg in clean and jerk for a total of 177kg.

Minati Sethi also secured three gold medals in 58kg category, but the medals went to her employers Indian Railways. She lifted 83kg in snatch, 112kg in clean and jerk and 195kg in total. Swarupa Purty claimed the lone bronze medal in women`s 58kg snatch with an effort of 80kg.
