Mountaineer Bhoi gets financial help from Tata Steel

Tata Steel today provided a financial support of Rs 1, 87,486 to Odisha`s leading mountaineer Jogabyasa Bhoi for his upcoming Mount Aconcagua expedition, the highest peak of South America. Tata Steel General Manager (Kalinganagar Project), Prasant Mallick handed over the cheque to Bhoi at the general office of the Kalinganagar Project.

Bhoi, who hails from Rupra village of Narla block in Kalahandi district, successfully scaled Mount Everest in 2011. That apart, he is credited with a number of mountaineering achievements including, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of Africa, Mount Elbruse, the highest peak of Europe and Mount Carstensz Pyramid, the highest peak of Australia-Oceania.

Bhoi is the only Indian in a team of eight going for the expedition. The expedition is being organized by Acomara, Argentina from November 25.
