Local favourites Birsa Munda Vidyapitha (BMV) bagged a treble by making a clean sweep of all three titles in the Odisha State-Level Nehru Hockey Tournament at Panposh Sports Hostel ground here today. With this achievement, BMV qualified to represent Odisha in three categories of the upcoming All-India Nehru Cup Tournament.
In the two under-17 finals of the state level competition, BMV girls routed KISS (Bhubaneswar) 10-0, while their boys beat Town High School (Sundargarh) 5-2. In under-15 boys` title clash, BMV blanked Town High School (Sundargarh) 5-0.
Results (Semifinals):
U-17 boys: Birsa Munda Vidyapitha beat R Majhapara High School (Sambalpur) 5-0, Town High School (Sundargarh) beat KISS (Bhubaneswar) 3-0.
U-17 girls: Birsa Munda Vidyapitha beat Alanda School (Rajgangpur) 4-0, KISS beat Town High School (Sundargarh) 4-0.
U-15 boys: Birsa Munda Vidyapitha beat B S High School (Sundargarh) 5-0, Town High School (Sundargarh) beat Don Bosco School (Kuarmunda, Sundargarh) 2-0.
