Odisha girl Ameek Kiran Batth added another trophy to her cabinet by capturing the singles title in the AITA Under-12 Talent Series Tournament at Patliputra Tennis Centre in Patna (Bihar) yesterday.
A Standard-VII student of Delhi Public School, Kalinga and trainee of Bhubaneswar-based Farhan Ali Tennis Academy, Ameek upset top seed Sakshi Suman (Bihar) in the final 6-3, 6-2. Earlier in the semifinals, she thrashed Kristi Boro (Assam) 4-2, 4-2.
This was the second AITA title for Ameek, who had bagged her previous one, also in u-12 category, at Kolkata earlier on May 6, 2014.
