A two member delegation of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) visited IDCO office yesterday and handed over the sponsorship amount to Hockey India League’s Odisha team ‘Kalinga Lancers’. IDCO being one of the major promoters of the team, its CMD Vishal Dev received the cheque, amounting Rs 87, 21, 900 from Ramjee Ram, ED (Project) and W R Borbora, GM (HR) of IOCL.
Speaking on the occasion Ramjee Ram said: ``As per the CSR policy of Indian Oil, we have been actively involved in promoting sports and sportspersons all over India. We all are aware about Odisha’s rich hockey culture. So when we received a request from Government of Odisha for our association with the tournament, we agreed immediately.
``We feel proud to be a part of the team representing a state like Odisha which has produced talents like Dillip Tirkey, Prabodh Tirkey, Lazrus Barla and many more in the past and wish the team all the best for the tournament ahead,`` he added.
