Three woman rowers of Odisha were accorded warm reception at the railway station in Cuttack when they returned home after winning two silver medals in the 19th Asian Junior Rowing Championships, which was held at Samarkand, Uzbekistan from October 11 to 16.
Sanjukta Dung Dung, Manjula Xess claimed one silver in the coxless pair, while Ashmita Kujur secured the other in coxless four. The trio from SAI Watersports Centre, Jagatpur (Cuttack) was greeted with bouquets and garlands by SAI coach Jose Jacob and office-bearers of Odisha Association for Rowing & Sculling.
In the six-day Asian junior championships, India bagged a total of four silver medals. The other two silvers came in men`s coxless pair and coxless four.
