Members of Odisha Sports Journalist Association paid humble tribute to Dr Ashok Patnaik on the 15th death anniversary of the eminent sports scribe at a simple function here on Sunday. OSJA announced to revive the Ashok Patnaik Sports Award from 2014 after a gap of two years.
Instituted in the year 2000, the annual award is conferred on one promising sportsperson, one eminent coach and one grassroots-level sports organisation. Sub-junior National snooker champion Ashutosh Padhy, archery coach Rajesh Hasdak and Shri Bira Hanuman Circus and Physical Institute (Berhampur) were the last recipients of the award in 2011.
