Bhubaneswar duo Chintan Naik and Raundi Tudu emerged fastest swimmers in men’s and women’s categories respectively in the 54th State Swimming Championship, which concluded at OCA Club Swimming Complex, Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on today.
Ruben Bilung (Sambalpur) and Omkar Dash (Bhubaneswar) in junior boys’ category; Raundi Tudu and Singi Hasa (Bhubaneswar) in junior girls’ group and Kritant Saha and Abhay Prakash Mohapatra in sub-junior category were adjudged fastest swimmers.
Odisha Police men and Bhubaneswar women became group champions. Odisha Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera handed over the trophies in the closing function. Altogether 160 swimmers participated in the two-day championship, which was organized by Odisha Swimming Association.
RESULTS:
Junior boys:
Group-I 200m freestyle: 1. Rajib Minz (Samb), 2. Dhur Kujur (Keon).
Group-II 50m freestyle: 1. Omkar Dash (Bhub), 2. Papu Lakra (Samb).
Group-II 100m individual: 1. Omkar Dash (Bhub), 2. Kishore Behera
Group-III 100m freestyle: 1. Kirtan Sahoo (Samb), 2. Swadhin Behera (Boud).
Group-III 200m individual: 1. Hardik Avinandan Patnaik, 2. Swadhin Behera.
Junior girls:
Group-I 200m freestyle: 1. Raundi Tudu (Bhub), 2. Niharika Patel (Samb).
Group-II 50m freestyle: 1. Singi Hasa (Bhub), 2. Tulasi Kisan (Bhub).
