Host Mahaveer Sporting Club beat Jay Maa Tarini Club (Gopalpur) in the final by a solitary goal to emerge champions in the Dibakar Swain Memorial Football Tournament, which concluded at Naranpur, Barang (Cuttack) today. Earlier in the semifinals, Mahaveer Sporting defeated Ravenshaw Morning Club 5-4 in tie breaker, while Jay Maa Tarini Club thrashed Pratap Club (Pratapnagari) 3-0.
Shekh Anis, Shekh Alam, Nippendra Kumar Das and Nirmala Swain were adjudged best goalkeeper, best fefender, best mid-fielder and man of the tournament respectively. Zilla Parishad chairman Prasant Behera, Football Association of Odisha vice-president handed over the trophy and prizes at the closing function.
