Local favourites Yazdani Club-73 emerged champions in the 21st Tamado Cup All-Odisha Football Tournament, defeating Odisha Police (Cuttack) 4-3 via sudden-death in the hard-fought final at Tamando, near here today. Despite repeated attackes by both the sides, play in the regulation time ended goalless. Even the tie-breaker failed to break the stalemate.
In the penalty shoot out, Sashi Toppo, Rupei Hansdah, Santosh Nayak and Kedarnath Singh scored the Club-73, while Basant Swain, Siddharth Sankar Pruseth and Ramesh Chhatoi found the target for Odisha Police. The champion and runner-up teams received cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively.
Mohammad Ehesan Khan (Odisha Police), Kishore Khadial (Club-73), Goutam Das (Police) and Kedarnath Singh (Club-73) were awarded as player of the tournament, man of the final match, best goalkeeper and best defender respectively. The tournament was organized by Shibashakti Club.
