Maharashtra trounced Odisha by an innings and 108 runs on the last day of their four-day Cooch Behar Troph (U-19) Plate-A match against Maharashtra at Nasik today. After conceding a 492-run first innings lead, Odisha put up improved batting performance in the second essay but only to be all out for 384.
Five Odisha batsmen _ Anurag Sarangi, Sumitosh Praharaj, Ashok Barik, Sujit Lenka and Priyatosh Paramanik _ hit a half-century each in the second innings. Satyajeet Bachhav was the most successful Maharashtra bowler, bagging six wickets for 141 runs.
Earlier electing to bat, Odisha were bundled out for 166 in the first innings. Amol Chinte destroyed the Odisha innings, scalping six wickets for 73 runs. In reply, Maharashtra rode on a big hundred by Nikhil Naik and his 212-run sixth-wicket stand with A Salvi to declare their first innings at 658 for nine.
