Subrat Das, Ashutosh Padhy and Chirag Arora shared the six titles in the 17th State Billiards and Snooker Championship, which concluded here at Cue Sport Academy, Jayadev Vihar today. Subrat retained his senior billiards and snooker to bag a double for the second time in a row.
He won the senior snooker title for the third time in five years, defeating 2009 champion Jeet Kishore Das in the final by 6-5 frames. Subrat`s previous two titles had come in 2007 and 2010.
Earlier this week, Subrat achieved a hat-trick by winning the senior billiards title for three times in a row. Amit Lath finished runner-up in senior billiards category.
Jeet, who won the senior snooker title earlier in 2009, settled with the runner-up trophy this time. The runner-up trophy in the senior billiards category went to Amit Lath.
Earlier, reigning sub-junior National billiards champion Ashutosh Padhy achieved a hat-trick by winning State titles in junior billiards, junior snooker and sub-junior billiards categories. The sub-junior snooker title was claimed by Cuttack teenager Chirag Arora.
Billiards and Snooker Association of Orissa (BSAO) treasurer Prabir Singhdeo, former Orissa volleyball captain P C Patnaik and host Cue Sport Academy president Premanshu Sekhar Patnaik presented trophies at the closing function.
The champion and runner-up in each of the six categories qualified to represent the state in the National Billiards and Snooker Championship, scheduled to be held at Chennai from July 18 to August 9. Arohan Construction companies Greens and Orchids have come forward to sponsor the five Orissa cueists for the National championship.

Senior snooker: Subrat Das bt Jeet Kishore Das 6-5 (28-76, 66-31, 45-43, 66-45, 47-51, 29-44, 52-54, 28-53, 67-50, 54-45, 63-50). Junior snooker: Asutosh Padhy bt Chirag Arora 3-0 (69-36, 50-38, 52-41). Junior billiards: Asutosh Padhy bt Chirag Arora 216-133. Sub-junior snooker: Chirag Arora bt Asutosh Padhy 3-2 (45-39, 47-34, 33-65, 45-80, 67-29). Sub-junior billiards: Asutosh Padhy bt Chirag Arora 236-153. Senior billiards: Subrat Das bt Amit Lath 3-1 (101-150, 150-44, 152-73, 150-116).
