Bhubaneswar defeated Puri 19-4 in the final to win the first Inter-District Gateball Championship here at Kalinga Stadium today. Puri finished third. Altogether 12 districts participated in the two-day event, which was organised by Orissa Gateball Union (OGU).
Public Health (Urban) Chief Engineer Dillip Singh handed over the trophy at the closing function. Indian Gateball Union president Dwaipayan Patnaik, secretary Sanjay Patnaik, OGU president Trilochan Debata and secretary Debabrata Mohanty were present on the occasion.
