Anchalika Sports Association were relegated to the Second Division of the FAO Football League when they finished last in the First Division table after losing to Young Utkal Club 2-3, via tie-breaker in the last relegation match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today.
Seshadeb Sahoo, Ashok Sethi, Sudarshan Debata (all Young Utkal); Chandrakanta Behera and Prakash Swain (Anchalika SA) scored in the penalty shoot out after play in the regulation time ended in goalless draw.
This year’s FAO League, formerly known as Cuttack League, would come to an end with the First Division final between Rising Students and East Coast Railway at Barabati Stadium on September 8. Earlier Kishore Club were promoted to next year’s First Division League after they finished at the top of the Second Division table.
