Orissa Cricket Association today named 26 probables for the composition of the state team for this year’s Ranji Trophy Championship, scheduled to begin in November. The probables, including new faces Gobind Podder, Partha Sarathi Patnaik, Anshuman Gope, Alok Mangaraj, Manas Muduli and Lagnajit Samal, have been informed to report to coach Manas Ranjan Ray at Orissa Cricket Academy, Cuttack on July 21.
The state senior selection committee has excluded two prominent names from last year’s Ranji Trophy team. They are former captain Pravanjan Mullick and experienced all-rounder P Jayachandra. This year, Orissa have been placed in Elite Group-B along with Baroda, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. They would play three out of six league matches at home.

Orissa matches:
November 1 to 4: Vs Baroda at Cuttack.
November 10 to 13: Vs Uttar Pradesh at Kanpur.
November 24 to 27: Vs Karnataka at Bangalore.
December 1 to 4: Vs Punjab at Cuttack.
December 8 to 11: Vs Himachal Pradesh at Cuttack.
December 15 to 18: Vs Haryana in Haryana.
