Saheed Sporting won the Mukteswar Cup Under-16 Cricket Tournament, defeating Pragati Sporting by 18 runs in the low-scoring final at Muketeswar ground in Bhubaneswar today. Siddharth Jena top scored for the winners with 36 runs to be adjudged the man of the match.
Pragati Sporting spinner Shantanu Mishra bagged five wickets but could not save his side from losing the match. Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) president Ranjib Biswal, treasurer Satya Mohanty and former Test batsman Shiv Sundar Das gave away the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function.
Sandeep Sethi (Saheed Sporting), Shantanu Mishra, Jyoti Bardhan Mohanty (Pragati) and Mahabir Prasad (Mukteswar) bagged the prizes as man of the tournament, best bowler, best batsman and best fielder respectively.
Shiv Sunder Das, who is also the captain of Orissa Ranji team, thanked host Mukteswar Cricket Club for conducting the tournament on turf wicket, while Biswal announced that OCA would set up one of its zonal academies in Bhubaneswar.

Saheed Sporting: 99 all out in 32.4 overs (Siddharth Jena 36: Shantanu Mishra 5/22, Aniruddha Choudhury 3/10) beat Pragati Sporting: 81 all out in 37.4 overs (Srinibas Samantaray 2/11, Ashish Pradhan 2/14, Mohammad Khan 2/14).
