Orissa state senior billiards champion Subrat Das ended his campaign on a honourable note when he lost to 1989 National snooker champion Shyam Jagtiani in the quarterfinals of the 1st Lala Ghasiram Masters Cup Eastern India Open Snooker Tournament at Salt Lake in Kolkata on Saturday. Jagtiani won the match 4-0.
The Orissa cueists told Orisports.com that he would stay at Kolkata to prepare for the National Billiards and Snooker Championship beginning at Agra next week. Meanwhile, Orissa State sub-junior billiards and snooker champion Asutosh Padhy packed his bag to return home after gaining valuable exposure. He lost all of his four league matches in Ghasiram Masters Cup but not before putting up excellent fight in the tournament, his first at zonal level.
