Saraswati Chand provided a philip for sports in Orissa by winning two medals in the 13th World Police Athletic Championship at Canada today. She bagged a silver in women’s 400 metre hurdles and a bronze in 800 metre run.
Saraswati has the opportunity to bag more medals as she is set to compete in 200 metre and 400 metre sprint tomorrow and in the 4x100 metre relay day after tomorrow. Police DG Manmohan Praharaj and IG Arun Kumar Sarangi congratulated the athlete and wished her success in the events to come in the next two days. Sailendra Prasad Burma is the person, who guided Saraswati to this achievement.
