Mixed luck for Orissa at u-11 Natls

Orissa experienced mixed luck with five wins, as many defeats and three draws in the sixth round of the 23rd National Under-11 Chess Championship being held at Shivamogga in Karnataka today. In the boys’ category, Rakesh Jena posted his fifth win to jump from 114th to third place in the in the ranking list. He now shares the second place with nine others, including statemate and second seed Sidhant Mohapatra. Girls’ top seed Sunyasakta Satpathy also registered her fifth victory to share the second place with five others. She will meet sole leader GK Monnisha (TN) in the seventh round on Tuesday. Boys: Sidhant Mohapatra (5) drew with K Anshuman (TN), Rakesh Kumar Jena (5) bt Sai Akshay (AP), Soumen Amlan (4) drew with Raskhith Rai (Goa), Bhaskar Sri Viswaroopanand (4) lost to Rishubh Naresh Naik (Goa), Chinmay Routray (3.5) lost to Sayan Majumdar (WB), Mohit Sahoo (2) lost to Ritviz Parab (Goa).
