Samaleswari Sporting Club of Sambalpur fought back to beat Ludhiana Sporting Club, Punjab 4-2, through tie-breaker in a Group-B match of the 10th All-India Knock-out Football Tournament at Sersa Stadium in Rourkela today.
After the end of regulation time, teams were tied at two goals each. Sanjib drew first blood to give Ludhiana 1-0 lead. But the lasted only three minutes Gokul Oram equalised for Samaleswari.
The Ludhiana side regained the lead when Gurdeep Singh struck in the 75th minute. Five minutes later, Sanatan Nayak leveled the score for Samaleswari.
In the tie-breaker Samaleswari scored four goals against two by the rivals. Samaleswari custodian Debi Prasad Dash effected two splendid saves to adjudged the man of the match.
