Delhi and Goa retained the women`s and men`s titles respectively in the 23rd Senior National Baseball Championship at Ravenshaw University ground in Cuttack today.
In the finals, Delhi women thrashed host Orissa 10-0, while Goa men beat a fighting Orissa 12-8. Earlier in the women’s semifinals, Delhi down Punjab 3-0 and Orissa got the better of Goa 11-6. In men’s last-four matches, Goa beat Punjab 11-7 and Orissa edged out Delhi 8-7.
Orissa High Court Justice Indrajeet Mohanty gave away the trophies at the closing function. Amateur Baseball Federation of India secretaru P C Bharadwaj and Orissa Baseball Association secretary Sibananda Pradhan were present on the occasion.
