Bhubaneswar Cricket League is all set to be revived after a long gap on December 30. Thirteen leading clubs of the capital city will participate in the league, host Bhubaneswar Athletic Association secretary S R Parija announced at a media conference today.
Teams have been divided into four groups and after completion of the group league the top team from each group will qualify for semifinals.
However, Sahid Sporting Club has been given the advantage to play quarterfinals directly against the winners of group `D`.
Matches will be played at Scaan ground (Unit-II) and Bapuji ground (Unit-I). Scaan and Bapuji Cricket Club will meet Oscar Sporting Club and Goutam Youth Association respectively in the first two matches on December 30.
The semifinals will be held on January 5 and 6, while the final will take place on January 7.
A three-day trial camp for selection of Bhubaneswar `A` and `B` teams for the Kalahandi Cup inter-district tournament will be conducted immediately after the city league.
Groupings:
Group-A: Scaan, Rameswar Sporting, Oscar Sporting.
Group-B: Paramount Sporting, Pragati Sporting, Crowning Sporting.
Group-C: Bapuji Cricket Club, Mukteswar Cricket Club, Goutam Youth Association.
Group-D: Sahid Sporting, Kishore Club, Bhubaneswar Cricket Club, Madan Mohan Cricket Academy.
